(Arnolds Park)– There’s good news for property tax payers in Arnolds Park.
City Administrator Ron Walker says the city’s proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year reflects a reduction in the property tax levy.
Walker says the proposed budget has a levy of $5.50 per thousand dollars of valuation…down $1.10 from last year’s $6.60.
Walker attributes the decline to a nearly 40 percent increase in valuation.
Walker expects the city’s levy will continue to drop in the future, once some major equipment purchases have been taken care of this fiscal year.
