Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire Dept. Raising Funds For Rescue Air Boat

November 22, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– A lakes area fire department is raising money to purchase a very special piece of equipment.

Duane Zahradnik of the Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire Department tells KUOO news they’re hoping to raise 110-thousand dollars to purchase a rescue air boat.

Zahradnik says it would come in handy for incidents involving poor ice conditions on lakes, rivers, streams and ponds.

Even though it would be housed and operated by the Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire Department, Zahradnik says the rescue air boat would respond to calls throughout Dickinson county, similar to the department’s fire boat.

Donations may be sent to Rescue Air Boat; P.O. Box 437; Arnolds Park, Iowa…51331.
