(Arnolds Park)– The Arnolds Park City Council Wednesday evening set a date for a public hearing on some proposed changes to the city’s Zoning Ordinance. City Clerk Linda Nase tells KUOO news one of those is a change to some wording…
“The Planning and Zoning Board has recommended to the city council to amend some wording in the zoning under permitted accessory uses in several of the residential and commercial sections in the book, and it is to remove the word porch from there and add deck. When you have a porch on a house, attached to the house, then you have to consider that as part of the house, so you have to meet all of the setbacks, whereas a deck can extend into the front or rear yard, so many feet into required yards. The second item is the Arnolds Park Amusement Park has come to the city requesting that group housing be added to the Arnolds Park zoning district. They are interested in possibly pursuing the addition of a dormitory or group housing in the Arnolds Park district to house J-1 students that work not only at the park but at other businesses around the town.”
A public hearing on the proposed revisions is set for the council’s December 8th meeting.
