Arnolds Park City Council Discusses Possible Changes To Peddlers, Solicitors And Transient Merchant Ordinance

October 14, 2021 Steve Schwaller

(Arnolds Park)– Some changes could be in the works to an ordinance in Arnolds Park that regulates the permitting of peddlers, solicitors and transient merchants.

The City Council Wednesday evening discussed several possible revisions, including one that would make a permit valid for six months at a cost of $250 provided the application is filed prior to May 1st. Any application filed after that date would cost $100 more, or $350. The proposed policy would apply to ALL locations where transient merchants set up shop in the city, not just those on city owned property.

With one member absent, the council stopped short of taking any action on the proposed changes Wednesday evening. They deferred the matter to their next regularly scheduled meeting November 10th.
