Tonic Sol Fa is on their Shake up Christmas Tour, and will play at the Roof Garden Ballroom Saturday night. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Arnolds Park Amusement Park will present Tonic Sol Fa in concert at the Roof Garden Ballroom on Saturday evening.
Lead Singer Shaun Johnson says, the award-winning a cappella group will be performing upbeat Christmas songs. “So far we are just having a blast, the audiences have been insane. I didn’t actually know what to expect because a lot of the venues said, oh, we’re at like 50 percent, or 40 percent, but we have been just having great luck and I think that is a testament to fans, who have just been saying, we’re coming no matter what. Some people are flying in, driving in, and so, we’re going to do some songs we have never done. We put together the whole show of songs that people requested, songs that we probably haven’t done for 10 years. So, I’m really excited about the show. I actually put it together this summer and I thought, I’m not going to do any slow songs. Well, we ended up putting one slow song in it, but it’s pretty much just a fun party. It kind of highlights all the guys, everyone has just an amazing solo voice. Jared, who is our bass, he can just sing so lyrically well even though he does all that crazy low rhythm. Greg does vocal percussion, but he’s going to be singing some songs , Theo, of course, too. So, it’s kind of a big conglomeration of upbeat Christmas songs. All Christmas, I think we might throw in one regular song if there’s a request.”
The concert will start at 7:30 Saturday night.
