Area Cities Reminding Residents Of Parking Regulations During Snow Removal Operations

December 09, 2021 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– With the first significant snowfall of the season in the forecast comes reminders from area cities of parking regulations during snow removal on streets.

In Spirit Lake, city code states “No person shall park, abandon, or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley or city-owned off-street parking area during snow removal operations unless the snow has been removed or plowed from said street, alley or parking area and the snow has ceased to fall.”

City officials say having vehicles off the streets during snow removal operations is essential for the safety of the plow operators and the safety of the public by helping to make sure snow can be removed.  The City appreciates the cooperation of residents in the coming winter season.
