April Snow Storm Causes Headaches

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Robins and other migratory birds that have already made the trek from their winter homes down south probably want to head back.

The calendar may say April, but old man winter says otherwise. A late season snow storm has dumped more than six inches of a wet, heavy, sloppy snow on the region, making a mess for travelers.

Snow, heavy at times, began falling shortly before 7:00 a.m. Tuesday and continued through Tuesday night into this (Wed.) morning.

Numerous schools were forced to either start late or cancel classes altogether.

Several accidents have occurred as well due to the snow, slush and ice-covered roads.

The good news is that no major precipitation is in the forecast the rest of the week. And at long-last, a warm-up is even in the forecast for next week when temperatures could reach the 50’s for highs.
