(Spencer)-The search is underway for the next Clay County Fair Queen. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Applications are now being accepted for the 2022 Clay County Fair Queen.
Fair CEO Jeremy Parsons explains the qualifications. “The competition will be Sunday, May 1st, and of course, prior to that we’re looking for females between the ages of 16 and 21 who either live in Clay County or have a majority of their activities in Clay County to run for Fair Queen. So, eligibility is not limited to 4-H or FFA membership, but the applicants just need to be involved in one service organization, and then, of course, just involved in other activities with their school and life. Somebody who can just be a good ambassador for the Clay County Fair throughout the summer, representing us at parades and festivals and then, of course, at the Fair itself in September. So, again, we’re just looking for those candidates to be able to crown a new Queen on May 1st.”
He notes that the deadline to submit an application is April 11th. “It’s very simple, just go to our website, claycountyfair.com, and you can download an application there and get that submitted to us on or before April 11th, so that’s the deadline to get those applications to us.”
