APO Dive Team Assists Lyon Co. Authorities In Search For Evidence

November 22, 2014

(Rock Rapids)– A home invasion robbery in Rock Rapids has resulted in multiple charges against several people, along with a search for evidence in the Rock River, of which the Arnolds Park/Okoboji Underwater Search and Rescue assisted authorities with this past weekend.

Lyon county authorities say it stems from back on July 20th of this year when two armed men entered a residence in Rock Rapids. Once inside they threatened to shoot a female; a male in the residence was beaten with a blunt object as he slept.

The suspects then fled, taking a safe with them.

Authorities executed search warrants as part of their investigation. They managed to recover some evidence, resulting in the arrest of Nathan Ubbinga of Rock Rapids, who was charged with attempted murder; joint criminal conduct, robbery in the first degree, burglary in the first degree, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, failure to have a drug tax stamp, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of road signs.

Kimberly Kramer of Rock Rapids was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, accessory after the fact in a burglary and robbery, failure to have a drug tax stamp, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of road signs.

Nicholas Lytle of Rock Rapids was arrested and charged with attempted murder, robbery in the first degree and burglary in the first degree.

The ongoing investigation led authorities to the Rock River, where a safe was found by a fisherman Sunday. A surgical glove was also recovered from the river Sunday.

The Arnolds Park-Okoboji Underwater Search and Rescue team assisted in the river search.
