Apartment Search Results In Drug Charges Against Two People

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A search warrant executed on an apartment in Spencer has led to the arrests of a Spencer woman and a Ruthven man on drug charges.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the search was conducted around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at 415 Fourth Avenue West in Spencer, apartment seven.

It resulted in authorities finding quantities of what’s alleged to be marijuana and multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia.

The renter of the apartment, 25-year-old Shelia Sundall, and 46-year-old Ricky Nissen of Ruthven were arrested and transported to the Clay county jail.

Nissen was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; and was wanted on an active warrant out of Palo Alto county for contempt of court. Authorities say Nissen’s narcotics charges were enhanced due to multiple previous narcotics-related convictions.

Sundall was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…and possession of drug paraphernalia. Authorities say she could also face an enhancement of charges or probation sanctions due to previous narcotics convictions.

Bond for Nissen was set at 6,825-dollars; Sundall was being held on 2,275-dollars bond.

Authorities say the investigation continues and additional arrests are expected.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa Adult Probation and Parole Office, the Clay County Attorney’s Office and the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force.
