December 08, 2021 Steve Schwaller

(Spencer)– Another reminder about a program later this month in Spencer that will address the region’s workforce shortage. Alyssa Petersen of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation says the program, titled “Iowa Workforce Skirmishes”, will be held at 10:00 am December 16th at the Clay County Regional Events Center. She says the keynote speaker will be Dr. Ron Cox of the Center for Industrial Research and Service at Iowa State University…

“They’ve done research over the last 78 years or so and discussed the workforce from about 1950 to present and explained some of the causes behind the current workforce shortages that we’re seeing. In addition to that he’s going to highlight a new approach to look at workforce and how communities or individual companies even can address their workforce needs.”

Those planning to attend should RSVP by emailing info@lakescorridor.com or by calling the corridor office at 712-264-3474.
