(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday approved the hiring of additional personnel for the Communications Center.
They unanimously approved employing four addtional full-time dispatchers and one part-time. That brings the number of full-time dispatchers in the center to nine.
Sheriff Greg Baloun says it will allow for two dispatchers to be on duty 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week beginning July 1st.
Baloun says the increased staffing comes at a very important time, with the Fourth of July just two weeks away.
