Additional Arrests Made In Multi-County Drug Case

November 22, 2014

(Jackson, Mn.)– Some additional arrests have been made in that ongoing multi-county drug investigation we first told you about last week.

Jackson County Sheriff Roger Hawkinson says 41-year-old Craig Reiter and 28-year-old Patricia Reiter…both of Lakefield…have been charged with first degree sales of a controlled substance.

Each faces up to 30 years in prison and up to a one million dollar fine if convicted.

Hawkinson says undercover officers made purchases of more than 200 suspected doses of LSD from the two suspects over a six-month period.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the arrests by the Jackson and Lakefield Police Departments.

That brings the total number of people arrested and charged so far in the case to six.

In addition to Jackson county authorities, the 20-month investigation has involved the Palo Alto and Emmet County Sheriff’s Offices, Emmetsburg Police Department, U-S Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa, Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Federal Drug Enforcement Administration, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
