(Spirit Lake)– Additional unincorporated areas of Dickinson county will soon be covered by outdoor warning sirens.
The board of supervisors this week voted to purchase two sirens included in the current fiscal year’s budget to serve the Triboji Beach area on the north side of West Lake Okoboji and Camp Foster on East Lake Okoboji.
Two additional sirens will be purchased from funds set aside in the upcoming fiscal year’s budget. Those will be installed in an area just south of the harbor on the west side of West Lake Okoboji and Elinor Bedell State Park on the northeast side of East Lake Okoboji.
Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Ehret says they hope to have the sirens installed by June…in time for the peak of severe weather season.
