(Okoboji)– The Iowa Association of Business and Industry is bringing its annual meeting back to Okoboji this year. That’s after last year’s meeting was moved to Sioux City for the first time in the organization’s history.
Leisa Fox, Vice President of ABI, says the convention was moved back to Okoboji this year at the request of lakes area resident and businessman Toby Shine, who chairs the organization.
The event will be held June 13th through the 15th at Arrowwood Resort in Okoboji.
Fox says the theme for this year’s meeting will be on workforce recruiting and retention.
Keynote speakers include Gay Gilbert, administrator for the Employment and Training Office of Workforce for the U.S. Department of Labor; Mac Anderson, founder of Successories, Inc. and the author of four books; and Charlie Wittmack–the first Iowan to climb Mount Everest. He’ll also be talking about his quest to swim the English Channel to rais money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
