(Estherville)– Estherville Fire Chief Travis Sheridan says firefighters were called around 4:20 pm after getting a report of a possible house fire at 402 North 18th Street. Sheridan says the homeowner used a fire extinguisher and had the fire out upon firefighters arriving. He says it originated from the electrical meter on the outside of the residence. Firefighters shut down the main breaker and checked in the walls and attic to make sure there was no fire burning there.
Firefighters were on the scene about a half hour.
