(Lakefield, Mn.)– A three-vehicle crash Sunday evening on the westbound shoulder of Interstate 90 five miles west of Lakefield resulted in minor injuries.
The Minnesota State Patrol says a 2005 Volkswagon Jetta driven by 50-year-old Laurel Nungesser of Everett, Washington had stopped in the right-lane and a 2004 Ford pickup driven by Michael Brammer of Bloomington was parked on the shoulder. Authorities say a third vehicle, a 2004 Lexsus driven by 71-year-old Janice Joul of Jackson, came upon the scene and rear-ended both the Volkswagon and pickup.
Brammer and a passenger in his vehicle, 58-year-old Edward Stormont of Jacksonville, Florida, were taken by ambulance to the Worthington hospital. Brammer was treated for a stiff neck; Stormont was treated for stiffness.
No other injuries were reported.
Moderate damage was reported to the Volkswagon Jetta driven by Ningesser; severe damage was reported to the pickup driven by Brammer; and the Lexsus driven by Joul was totaled.
The State Patrol was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Lakefield ambulance, and Lakefield Fire and Rescue.
The crash took place shortly after 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
