Okoboji Summer Theatre recruits local help to unload Gear and Props for 2021 Season

The Okoboji Summer Theatre’s semi-truck full of gear and props has now been unloaded.

Executive Director Ruth Ann Burke says they recruited some local help.  “We put the word out with the Okoboji Summer Theatre Association, our local volunteers, and man, did they step up.  We’ve got some volunteers from family members and friends and also, Carol Ayres helped us the Iowa lakes Community College volunteers, so we’re grateful everybody could come out and help us unload this semi.”

She notes that they’ll spend the next several weeks preparing for the season.  “We are going to take a couple of weeks to unpack everything, put things into place, set up our offices.  We havea  group of students coming later next week to help us with our pre-season, which is deep clean and setting everything up to be ready to get that theatre opened and aired out and set up, and then our students will come in mid-June, and then we’ll really get going and start rehearsals for our six show season and two Bantam Productions.”

She adds that they will be opening a contactless box office in June.  “We will be opening a contactless box office June 21st so people can  email us at boxoffice@okobojisummertheatre.org and then June 21st, people can give us a call or check out eventbrite.com for tickets.”

OST will open their season with Grease on July 6.
