Milford City Council To Consider Possible Sale Of Fuller Airport & Discuss City Zoning Administrator Position

May 22, 2021

(Milford)– The Milford City Council Monday evening will consider a proposal to sell the Fuller Airport to a group calling itself “Spirit of Okoboji”. Spokespersons for the group say they’re proposing to expand Memorial Park onto that location to include a multi-use sports facility. (Note this is a correction from an earlier report indicating it was going to be used for a housing project.)

The council also Monday evening will consider a “separation letter” from the city’s Zoning Administrator, Don Brinkley, and will decide whether or not to advertise for a replacement for the position. The council earlier this month approved a revision to Brinkley’s contract with the city removing him from any zoning matters pertaining to the Okoboji Community School District. The council took the action siting concerns over a possible conflict of interest stemming from ongoing disagreements Brinkley has had with the district.

The Milford City Council convenes at 6:30 pm Monday in the Community Center Board Room.
