City Of Spencer Launching New Online Payment Portal

May 19, 2021

(Spencer)– The city of Spencer is making it easier for residents to make payments and place orders for various city services. Deputy City Manager Brian Weuve informed the city council earlier this week of a new portal that’s being launched on the city’s website. He says it will give citizens a more convenient method to pay city bills, fines, licenses and permits and schedule inspections. Weuve says as of right now, however, anyone applying for a permit or license will need to do so at City Hall…Brian Weuve01

“I think down the road there will be a way to actually apply for permits through the system, but that’s not quite there. We will have an online permitting process coming out here later this summer that will take it and make it more online, not directly tied here.”

Weuve says the portal will also eventually be expanded to include payments and reservations for things related to the city’s Parks and Recreation Departments…Brian Weuve02

“That will allow you to go online and buy your pool passes, register for pool passes or golf passes, also make campground reservations online and shelter reservations, etcetera on that, so. And classes. If they offer like the yoga last year or the police has a fun run tentatively coming up sometime this summer, the registration for that will be through that.”

Weuve says they’re hoping to be able to offer that in coming weeks.
