(Arnolds Park)– The city of Arnolds Park is thinking about making a change to an ordinance pertaining to peddlers, solicitors and transient merchants. City Clerk Linda Nase tells KUOO news it would be intended to accommodate plans for a special event this coming fall at a city park…
“We’ve been approached by an organization that would like to do a beer and wine, an Okoboji Beer and Wine Festival this fall, and right now we do not allow transient merchants to be on city property, they want to be at Central Park. And so we would need to change or transient merchants chapter to allow that and they we’re also looking at what would we charge them for that event because it’s such a large group and they’re brining in several vendors underneath them.”
A public hearing on the proposed change will be held at the Arnolds Park City Council’s June 9th meeting.
