Very Minimal Damage Reported In A Fire At A Business In Downtown Spirit Lake

(Spirit Lake)– Very minimal damage was reported in a fire Thursday evening at Campus Cleaners in Spirit Lake. Spirit Lake Fire Chief Pat Daly says they were called around 6:18 pm to the business at 1710 Ithaca Avenue…Daly & Campus Cleaners Fire01 

“When we got on the scene we had smoke showing out of the roof. We did make entry and we did find that there was dryer that was on fire in there.”

Daly says it was a fluke as to how the fire was discovered…Daly & Campus Cleaners Fire02 

“I don’t think anybody was in there. The owner has it on a camera and he seen it at home. So that always gives us a good clue where to go look.”

Daly says the fire was quickly put out and that it was a matter of ventilating the building after that.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters were on the scene about an hour.
