(Okoboji)– Okoboji residents will likely be paying more for water soon.
The city council this week set June 8th as the date for a public hearing on a possible rate increase.
The size of the increase isn’t known just yet. City officials say they are in the process of determining that through meetings with a financial consultant and the city’s Finance Committee.
City officials had previously indicated an increase in treatment costs and a need for work on the city’s distribution system are driving the possible increase in rates.
