(Armstrong)– Travis Schueller has been elected Mayor of Armstrong in a special election that was held today (Tuesday).
Unofficial results released by the Emmet County Auditor’s Office show Schueller received 153 votes. Dave Grussing, a write-in candidate, received 122.
Grussing had been appointed by the council to serve as Mayor to fill the term of Greg Buum, who, along with several other current and former city officials, were charged in connection with an investigation into financial and other irregularities allegedly involving city affairs.
A petition was filed by residents calling for today’s (Tues.) special election.
The Emmet County Board of Supervisors will canvass the results of the election at their meeting Tuesday, May 18th.
