Plans Are In The Works To Apply For Funding To Expand Tatonka Ska Trace Trail To The West Of Montgomery Three And-A-Half Miles

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors today (Tues.) approved a resolution authorizing the county’s Trails Board to apply for funding for another expansion of the “Tatonka Ska Trace” trail on the former Iowa and Northwestern Railroad right-of-way. Trails Director Erin Reed says this would allow a three and-a-half mile west expansion from Montgomery. She says the Iowa Department of Transportation is making available $5 million in trails funding from COVID relief funds and that they’ll be applying for some of that…Reed & Trails Grant01
