Bike Share Season Has Begun In Jackson

May 07, 2021

(Jackson)– The Bike Share system is back in Jackson, kicking off Bike Month! Jackson was designated a bicycle friendly community in 2018, and newly finished work on some of the town’s trails are helping people get back outside for the summer season. Bike Share Story

Bike Share in Jackson is a free rental system which oversees bikes at multiple locations throughout the city, such Jackson Library and the Jackson Motorplex, and wants people to get out on the trails for the summer.

The rental system uses a free phone app called Movatic. Credit card details are asked for by the app as well as contact information to make sure that bikes are not stolen, but the system is entirely free. Bikes are available from 9am to 8pm and are available from May to October.

Bike Month in Jackson also kicks off some fun community events! Bike to Work Day will be May 20th at the REST Stop at 5 pm, there will be a Family Bike Ride on June 24th at 5 pm, an Adult Ride, similar to a 5k, a Chalk Walk Contest with a date TBD, and a Trail Scavenger Hunt which will run from June 1st until September 12th.
