(Worthington, Mn.)– Reconstruction of the Highway 60 roundabouts in Worthington is scheduled to get underway next week. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the roundabouts are at the intersections of Interstate 90, Oxford Street and Nobles County Road 35, and that detours will go into affect Monday, May 3rd, weather permitting.
The project includes replacement of center curbs, truck aprons, areas of failed pavement and restriping.
MnDOT officials say the work will take place in three stages for each roundabout, with a separate set of detours for each.
The work is scheduled for completion in August of this year. As we reported previously, officials say the improvements will better accommodate large trucks and improve motorist safety. The roundabouts have had a history of accidents over the years.
The project has a cost of just under a million dollars.
