(Swea City)– The State Medical Examiner says an autopsy has determined carbon monoxide poisoning was the cause of death of a teen who was found unconscious earlier this week at a hog facility near Swea City.
17-year-old Victoria Marie Parra Lerdo of Rockwell City was found lying on a floor by another worker. She was taken to Kossuth Regional Health Center where she was later pronounced dead.
The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office says there was inadequate ventilation in the building. Lerdo’s death has been ruled an accident based on the findings of the autopsy report.
