(Arnolds Park)-The Spirit Lake Music Department is presenting a special concert this weekend, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Spirit Lake Music Department will present Saturday in the Park on Saturday, featuring a number of ensembles from Spirit Lake Schools.
Spirit Lake Music Booster Club President Barb Fuelberth explains. “We’re super excited because of our shortened show choir season this year due to covid and weather and everything else. We wanted to give our kids one more chance to perform, and our Middle School Show Choir a chance to actually perform since they worked so hard. So, with the help of Jeff Vierkant and Gary Heady, we are going to be performing down in the Greenspace. So, our Middle School Show Choir, Vocal Jazz, High School Show Choir and Jazz Band will all be performing on Saturday afternoon at 2:30.”
She notes that a free will donation will be accepted. “We will do a free will donation, mostly just to help support the groups. Endeavors like this are always expensive. Show choirs cost a lot of money for the choreography and the music and the costumes, and Jazz Band wants to get new music and new horns and things like that, so a free will donation helps a lot with supporting these kids in their activities.”
In the event of rain, the concert will be held on Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock.
