(Hospers)– A Sheldon man has been charged in connection with a single vehicle crash Saturday on Highway 60 about a half mile south of Hospers.
Sioux County authorities say 32-year-old Nicholas Harper of Portsmouth, Virginia was driving a 2010 Ford pickup northbound when he drove off the west side of the road, over-corrected, and lost control of the vehicle. It then rolled, coming to rest on its side on the roadway.
Deputies say 26-year-old Patrick Kapa of Sheldon then came upon the scene and attempted to remove Harper from the area and allegedly interfered in the investigation into the incident.
Harper was taken by ambulance to the Orange City hospital and was later transferred to a hospital in Sioux City.
Kapa was arrested and booked into the Sioux county jail on a charge of interference with official acts.
Authorities say the crash is still under investigation and that additional charges are possible. It happened around 1:00 am Saturday.
