(Spirit Lake)– 4th through 8th grade students from throughout the area are being urged to participate in a special event dedicated to those interested in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Hanna Dibble, K-12 Education Director for ISU Extension and Outreach, Dickinson County, says they’ll be holding a STEM Fest event Saturday, April 24th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at Lakeside Lab. She says there will be a wide range of activities…
“We have some polymer bead design; we have soldering, so you’ll make kind of a blinking badge and learn the skills of soldering; and you’ll get to take flight with drones. We have some very amazing things going on with eye ball exploration and you’ll get to decode a message using the lens of an eye.”
There will also be an archery event taking place outdoors.
The cost is $5 per student. Pre-registration is available by calling 336-3488.
