Royal Man Arrested Following A Brief Pursuit Early This (Monday) Morning In Clay County

March 29, 2021

(Spencer)– A Royal man was arrested on multiple charges after leading authorities on a short pursuit early this (Mon.) in Clay county.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy on patrol near Royal observed a vehicle turn westbound on to 410th Street from 150th Avenue. The deputy attempted to pull over the vehicle in the 1400 mile of 410th Street for an alleged traffic violation, but the driver continued on, resulting in a short pursuit. It ended a short time later after the driver, 43-year-old Samuel Seivert of Royal, pulled over in the 600 block of Church Street in Royal.

Further investigation revealed Seivert’s driver’s license had been suspended and that the vehicle’s registration and insurance weren’t up to date.

Seivert was taken into custody and was transported to the Clay county jail where he was being held for driving while barred, driving while suspended, failure to provide proof of financial liability, operating a non-registered vehicle and failure to obey a traffic control device.
