(Arnolds Park)-The Okoboji Blue Water Festival will be held in August, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Organizers say the Okoboji Blue Water Festival will be held on August 7 in the Iowa Great Lakes.
Festival Founder Greg Drees says he’s excited to be able to hold the festival this year. “This will be the 5th edition of the Okoboji Blue Water Festival on August 7th, that’s a Saturday, in Preservation Plaza, or more widely known as the Greenspace at the Arnolds Park Amusement Park. We’re excited, foremost, to be able to move forward with our plans. We’re very pleased and encouraged by the pace of the vaccine program, and we feel that by August 7th, people are going to be yearning for an event like this. Of course, we’ll watch the protocol, and if we have to be creative with some of the logistics, we will but, here we go!”
He notes that Grammy winner Colbie Caillat will headline the festival. “Our headliner this year is Colbie Caillat, multi-Grammy Award Winner, pop singer, songwriter. There’s already a pretty big buzz about having Colbie Caillat here for our concert.”
