(Arnolds Park)– After days of leaning precariously, the Iowa Great Lakes Rotary car officially became completely submerged today (Saturday) on Smith’s Bay.
Club member Leo Kofoot tells KUOO news crews will pull the car out at 2:00 pm Sunday.
The person that buys the ticket with the time closest to when the car actually went through will be the lucky winner of a $1,000 prize. The time is determined by a clock that’s specially rigged to stop once the vehicle is submerged. The clock will be recovered when crews retrieve the vehicle, and the winner will be determined.
The car drop is an annual fundraiser for the Iowa Great Lakes Rotary Club.
