(Emmetsburg)– No injuries were reported Monday when a semi left the road in Palo Alto county.
The Sheriff’s Office says 66-year-old Terry Alt of Algona was driving a 2001 Kenworth pulling a trailer loaded with feed and was southbound in the 4000 block of 540th Avenue. Deputies say the rig traveled onto the west shoulder and went into the ditch. The trailer detached and overturned. The semi tractor came to rest in a field just west of the trailer.
Damage to the trailer was estimated at $20,000. The value of the feed it was hauling was put at $6,000.
Alt was cited for failure to maintain control.
