(Sioux City)– An Estherville man has been sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a protected location.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says as part of a plea deal, 26-year-old Chance Wetter admitted he and others distributed meth in the lakes area from October 2019 through February of 2020. On October 23rd 2019, law enforcement conducted a controlled buy from Wetter utilizing an undercover officer in Spirit Lake. Wetter sold the officer about two ounces of the drug at the Public Library and another two ounces of methamphetamine at his apartment, which was within 1,000 feet of Memorial Park in Spirit Lake.
Wetter was also ordered to serve a seven year term of supervised release following the prison term.
