(Armstrong)– We’re learning additional details from a special meeting Monday evening of the Armstrong City Council.
Mayor Greg Buum submitted his resignation and the council accepted it.
Buum is among five current and former city officials arrested in an ongoing investigation into various alleged wrongdoings, including misappropriation of funds and falsifying documents.
The council voted to place two other city officials, City Clerk Connie Thackery and Police Chief Craig Merrill, on unpaid administrative leave.
Former City Clerks Connie Thackery and Mary Kate Staton, were also charged in the case.
