(Arnolds Park)-The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association will kick of the U of O Winter Games with a concert on Thursday night, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association will present a Winter Games Roof Garden Jam featuring the Mr. V Trio and Iowa Rock ‘n Roll All Stars on Thursday evening.
Executive Director Clay Norris says the concert will feature a number of Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame Inductees. “A board member of ours, Vance Jorgensen, he’s from the Mason City area, living over there he realized that due to covid, it was unlikely that The Surf Ballroom was going to be able to anything for the Winter Dance Party. So, he called us and said, I’ve got an idea. What if I get my group, which is the Mr. V Trio, and then gather some people that are all stars, basically Hall of Fame members in the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame, and gather then together in a group. So, not only is there the Mr. V Trio, but he’s also got a galaxy of Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame stars.”
He adds that seating is limited. “They’re going to be in socially distanced sets. You can buy a pair of tickets for $20. You can buy a set of 4 tickets for $32, or you can reserve a booth $90, but I think the booths are going fast so, get online and order your tickets. There’s only going to be 300 or so capacity.”
