Dickinson Co. Conservation Bd. To Begin Accepting Reservations For New Maser Monarch Lodge

January 22, 2021

(Okoboji)– A new amenity adjacent to the Dickinson County Nature Center and Kenue Park will be opening its doors this spring. The Dickinson County Conservation Board will begin accepting online reservations for the new Maser Monarch Lodge beginning February 1st, with the facility opening for events April 1st. Daria Mather, Community Relations Coordinator for the Dickinson County Conservation Board, says the new 6,000 square foot facility has a lot to offer…Mather01

“The Maser Monarch Lodge can accommodate 150 people. We have 150 folding chairs, 25 round tables and six rectangular tables. There’s a kitchen, it’s got a fridge and a freezer. There is no stove, but for catering that shouldn’t be an issue from what I know. But yeah, it’s got indoor space, outdoor space and a beautiful fireplace in it and a beautiful chandelier so you have multiple different places where you can place like a head table up for a wedding reception. There’s also a projector in there so you can put up any kind of slideshow for presentations, for like a business meeting or a slideshow for a wedding or something like that. There’s a lot of different things that it offers.”

Mather adds the facility also takes advantage of a number of features surrounding it…Mather02

“There’s the Nature Center parking lot, the nature playscape, the lodge, and then Kenue Park. So you’ve got a little bit of everything. There’s parking, there’s nature, the pond is out there, the prairies are out here, there’s everything.”

You can find information on reservations and fees at www.dickinsoncountyconservationboard.com.

Construction of the Maser Monarch Lodge began in July of 2019 and was privately funded.
