(Arnolds Park)– The Arnolds Park Amusement Park has announced its list of activities for this year’s University of Okoboji Games.
Things get started that Thursday evening with the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association hosting “The Mr. V Trio & The Iowa Rock ‘N Roll All-Stars”. They’ll be performing music of the Buddy Holly/Ritchie Valens/Big Bopper era.
The Okoboji Kite Festival will return that Friday, sponsored by Eagle Construction and Kozy Heat. The kites will also be flying that Saturday and Sunday. The group “Thunderstruck”, an AC/DC tribute band, will perform Friday night in the Roof Garden with limited seating and COVID-19 precautions in place.
Saturday’s Winter Games events at Arnolds Park will include Snowga, or Yoga in the snow at 8:00 am; a 5K run at 9:00 am; Human Foosball at 9:00 am; and a vintage pinball tournament at 10:00 am.
Other events Saturday will include Boon & Lambert in The Majestic Pavilion from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and 3:00 until 6:00 pm; The HAPI Feud Game Show (a Family Feud type game show); and food trucks in front of the pavilion.
A new event on Preservation Plaza that Saturday is snowball fights starting at 1:00 pm; a courtyard area with firepits, and burning of the greens starting at 6:30 pm. Another highlight will be the Polar Plunge at 3:00 pm.
“The Pork Tornadoes” will perform in the Roof Garden following the burning of the greens. Tickets can be purchased at www.arnoldspark.com/tickets.
