(Jackson, Mn.)– An arrest has been made in connection with that truck-pedestrian accident in Jackson that we told you about earlier this week.
Authorities say 50-year-old Roy Sutherland of Jackson was arrested and charged with 3rd degree assault. He made an appearance in court today (Friday). Bail was set at $5,000 with conditions or $20,000 without.
The arrest was made following an investigation into the incident that happened Wednesday.
Sutherland was driving a pickup around 4:00 pm Wednesday that collided with Thomas Reynolds of Hastings, Minnesota, who was walking across Highway 71 just south of Belmond Lane. Reynolds was injured in the incident and was taken to Sanford Jackson Medical Center. His injuries weren’t believed to be serious.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol continue to investigate the matter.
