(Spirit Lake)– An enforcement officer with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources who served the Iowa Great Lakes Area has died of complications from COVID-19.
Steve Reighard passed away Friday at a Sioux Falls hospital.
Reighard served as Park Ranger at Gull Point State Park in 2005. He started work in the DNR’s Enforcement Division in 2012.
A post on social media says Reighard was a fixture in the local law enforcement community and that he will be remembered for his dedication.
A memorial (see photo below) has been set up on the plaza at the east entrances of the Dickinson County Courthouse.
