The Iowa Rock ‘ n Roll Music Association will hold an online auction with a live event on Thursday night.
Executive Director Clay Norris says the auction will include memorabilia from major artists. “We’ve got autographs from Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney, and it’s on a wonderfully framed piece. They signed their Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album, and it’s got tickets with it and a poster. We have a similar item from KISS, and we have a similar item from The Rolling Stones, and all The Rolling Stones signed it. We’ve got guitars from the Beach Boys, from Angus Young of AC/DC, and Corey Taylor, who’s an Iowan from Slipknot and Stone Sour.”
He adds that a special guitar has been donated for the event. “One of the people that really helps us a lot in so many ways and helps the community is Tom Bedell, and he has given us something out of his own personal collection. It is a brand new 1964 Special Edition Orchestra Guitar.”
He notes that the auction items will be available for viewing online. “Simply go to iowarocknroll.com and there will be a link, real easy, it will be right on the front page that says auction.”
