(Sioux Center)– Two people face charges in connection with some assaults that took place last week at a northwest Iowa meat processing facility.
Authorities in Sioux county say deputies were called around 8:20 am Thursday to Perdue Premium Meat Company just south of Sioux Center after getting a report of two assaults that had taken place there.
Upon investigating deputies discovered 43-year-old Elsa Segura-Garcia of Sioux Center had allegedly assaulted a co-worker causing bodily injury. Her husband, 47-year-old Carlos Lopez-Torres of Sioux Center, then allegedly assaulted the victim’s brother at the same location.
Segura-Garcia and Lopez-Torres were charged with serious assault and were booked into jail.
