(Spirit Lake)– Pending formal FDA approval, officials with Dickinson County Public Health and Lakes Regional Healthcare expect the first 300 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine will be shipped to them the week of December 21st.
They say the first doses will be given to top priority healthcare staff, followed by other healthcare staff and nursing home residents, then the community. They expect that the first vaccinations will begin around Christmas.
Dr. Jeremy Bolluyt, Chief Medical Officer at Lakes Regional Healthcare, says they expect to receive regular shipments fairly soon after the initial 300 doses arrive.
