Authorities Investigating A Rash Of Thefts Involving Catalytic Converters

December 10, 2020

(Sibley)– Authorities around the region are investigating a recent rash of thefts involving catalytic converters.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says three vehicles in that county had the devices stolen off of them in the past month and-a-half alone. The perpetrators are using a sawsall to cut them off and are targeting vehicles that have a high ground clearance.

Authorities say the locations have varied. One involved a vehicle parked in a field near Harris; one was parked next to Highway 60 near Ashton; and another involved a vehicle parked behind a repair shop in Sibley.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office or your local law enforcement agency.
