Storm Lake Man Sentenced On Child Porn Charges

December 10, 2020

(Sioux City)– A Storm Lake man has been sentenced to more than 18 years in federal prison for possessing child pornography.

25-year-old James Sievers pled guilty previously to one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography.

Evidence showed that between June 5th, 2019 and October 31st, 2019 Sievers received and possessed the material. Court documents say additional evidence was obtained after a search warrant was executed at Sievers’ home on October 31st, 2019.

Records show Sievers has three prior convictions in Buena Vista county for incest, failure to register as a sex offender and sexual exploitation of a minor.

In addition to the jail time, Sievers will be required to serve an eight year term of supervised release once he’s out of prison.
