(Lakefield, Mn.)– With the Fall harvest all but wrapped up in our area, Jim Nesseth with Extended Ag Services says that the mild weather this year is helping farmers get a jump on next season…
“It’s just been incredible, guys are just tiling, those guys have just been busy and getting a lot of work done that normally you get done and in really nice conditions. Normally those guys are out there and digging down in some of those holes trying to find old tile lines and it’s wet and cold and basically everyone is telling me it’s really dry out there, which we kind of know, but that makes it nice conditions to get that tiling done. And just cleaning up some of those fence rows, getting some trees and brush out, we’ve got time to get that done and that just makes things a lot easier for doing field work the next spring, and so everybody is just kinda going ‘man this is really great’ and it’s kinda fun to have a year like this again.”
Nesseth says this is the first time in many years producers have been able to accomplish so much this late in the season.
