ISU Extension Pro-Ag Outlook Series to be held online December 7-11

December 03, 2020

(Spirit Lake)-The ISU Extension Pro Ag Meetings will be held online next week, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

ISU Extension Pro-Ag Outlook Series to be held online December 7-11

The annual ISU Extension and Outreach Pro Ag Outlook and Management meetings will be held virtually this year due to COVID-19 concerns.

Farm Management Specialist Gary Wright explains.  “Historically, we have had what’s called Pro-Ag Outlook and Management sessions in Northwest Iowa 4, 5, 6  years in a row, and I’ve been directly involved with those.  We typically have 2 meetings.  Well, this year because of COVID, we’re bringing that virtually to Northwest Iowa, actually we’re bringing it to the entire state, it’s a statewide group of seminars that’s going to be next week.”

He adds that participants will be able to hear from five Iowa State University Extension and Outreach specialists.  “Of the 5 speakers, 4 of those speakers actually have been in Northwest Iowa in person in the past, and my sense is, it’s highlighted with Dr. Chad Hart.  Chad is well known in this area, he’s kind of a grain market guru.  He’ll be talking about that topic, and that’s actually the last day, next Friday.  All of these are from 1 to 2 in the afternoon and they start Monday through Friday, and then the other experts are people that have ag backgrounds.”
