(Des Moines)– The state of Iowa is reporting 1,200 new, confirmed cases of COVID-19 for the previous 24 hours ending at 10:00 am this (Mon.) morning, along with 28 additional deaths. That puts the total number of virus-related deaths so far in Iowa at 2,402.
The state’s overall positivity rate increased to 18.9 percent…up from 17.8 percent Sunday. The positivity rate in every county in northwest Iowa is more than 18 percent.
The total number of Iowans hospitalized with the virus continues to slowly decline. 1,162 were in the hospital with virus-related issues as of this (Mon.) morning, compared with 1,175 on Sunday. 224 were in intensive care units with 147 on ventilators.
Clay and Dickinson counties reported 10 and 11 new cases respectively over the past day.
